'When it Rains'  (2011)

Written on napkins and torn envelopes, in blizzards and late night writing sessions, singer/songwriter Stiv Morgan is releasing his debut solo album with the help of the musicians of Old Boy Records.  When it Rains consists of ten original tracks ranging from two instruments on a track to a five-piece band with a choir.

The players include Chris Merkley (electric guitar/ harmonica/ vocals) and Chad Dean (drums) who also play in Morgan’s electric power trio, Digger Jones; Claire Byrne (fiddle) and Joe Kollar (banjo), from Driftwood, and longtime friends and band mates JP Storrier (mandolin) and Brandon Regard (bass) round out the cast.  Drawing on the influences of bluegrass, blues, gospel, and country, the songs on When it Rains vary from heart-felt ballads to the twang of traditional bluegrass.

Ordinary Days'  (2006)

With a musical past that dates back to their high school days, Chris Merkley and Stiv Morgan have worked together on numerous acoustic and electric projects through the years.  When playing acoustic, the duo digs into the roots of blues, folk, country and Americana traditions with a combination of guitars, harmonica and harmony vocals.

"From the chugging arrangements, Allman Brothers-type harmonies and swirling harmonica of 'All I Need' and 'Take a Ride' to the more traditional lament 'Penny Pinchin', the duo mines the rich history of the Blues while keeping it relevant for the new millennium."      -Chris Kocher (Press & Sun Bulletin)
